In this three-hour workshop, you'll go through the process of writing a song from start to finish. Learn how to write powerful lyrics, create memorable melodies, and use 'ghost songs' as patterns for writing your own original songs in any style. Class materials include a 45-page book of worksheets, examples, step-by-step instructions, and valuable resources plus a CD of instrumental tracks for practice in writing melodies and lyrics. You'll learn about copyright basics, how to make a good demo on a small budget, how royalties are collected and distributed, what a publisher does, how to be your own publisher, and, most importantly, how to get your songs to the people who count - the publishers and producers who can get your songs recorded. Intermediate & Advanced Level Song Courses

Robin will be giving a course for students who have taken her basic four-week course, "Write & Sell Hit Songs" and workshops. At the intermediate level, you'll analyze current hit songs to see what makes them tick, set a one-month songwriting goal, present lyrics or songs-in-progress to the class, and practice rewriting skills. The advanced course will focus on acquiring and honing the tools needed to successfully write hit songs. Classes are limited to 12 students.
